Delicious Library
REVIEWED BY JEFFREY GAIER -- 04/2006

Over the years I have purchased quite a few books, movies, games and other items of entertainment value. There are times I begin to second guess myself rummaging through my shelves looking for a book. It is one of those situation do I have the book? Where is it? Did one of family members borrow it? Well with Delicious Library some of those problems can now be solved.

Delicious Library is a database software that allows you to catalog, browse and share all your books, movies, music and video games. It is literally a library all to itself. Using a firewire capable video camera such as isightš, you can point the camera at the item's barcode, the software will then seek out the information on that product at Amazon.com. If the book, movie, game, or music is there, the software will copy an image of the cover, and the information it finds on the product at Amazon.com to enter into your database. If you don't have an isight camera that isn't a problem. You can input your collection by scanning device, voice or even by hand with your keyboard.

Once you have your item in the library, you import friends, family members or other people into your library from your address book or you can input them by hand. You can keep track of which friends borrow which book from your library.

The software has a few features that allow you to seek out items on Amazon.com for sale, (both used and new), as well as selling items from your collection on Amazon.com. Personally, these features did not impress me. Partially because the folks then at Delicious-Monster are putting themselves in the position of getting some credit from your sales or purchases through the software.

If you would like to find some software to organize your collection, Delicious Library is most certainly something you should consider.

Delicious Library cost is about $40.
