iRemember (Digital Scrapbooking)
REVIEWED BY WANDA ROUTIER -- 12/2006

iRemember is a scrapbook program that enables the user to put digital photographs into a scrapbook on the computer.

I found the program a little difficult to use when not using the templates. It was difficult to figure out, as a first time user, how to maneuver around the menu and find backgrounds, how to select font colors and size, how to size clip art, and other things to make an original page in the scrapbook. Once I found out how to do many of these things it was a bit easier to manipulate, but it was still more difficult than I think it should be.

There are quite a few templates for different sized paper. The templates were for many family milestones such as birthdays, including children's years such as 4, 5, etc.; anniversaries, vacations, school days, valentine's day, etc. Photos still needed to be cropped to fit the template photo size. Adding text to a template that doesn't have text is still a bit difficult to figure out. The templates were easier to use than making a scrapbook page from scratch. If you want an event that isn't listed in the templates, then making a new page is the only option.

iRemember is a unique program for scrapbooking enthusiasts. It seems as though it could make more use of the intuitive Macintosh characteristics such as drag and drop and ease of use with graphics. It may take a little time to learn the program completely, but it fills a niche for those looking for a digital way to make a scrapbook.
